Good Oral Hygiene Practice

There are foods that you have to avoid as well because these foods can contribute to the formation of the cavities on your teeth. You have to limit your intake of the foods that are rich in sugar and carbohydrates. Also, you have to avoid eating foods and consuming drinks that have a very high content of acids. These include the sodas and colas. It is not bad to eat these kinds of foods, but they should be limited only. Or else, you will expose your teeth to bacteria that can destroy your teeth.
After eating any kind of food, drink a glass of water. Drinking a glass of water after taking in any kind of food will return the pH level of your mouth to the normal level. With the normal pH level, it will be able to counteract the sugar and the acid that are present in the mouth. This will prevent the cavities from forming and the bacteria from destroying the teeth. Also, by drinking a lot of water, you will be able to prevent your mouth from getting dried.

Sometimes, there are cavities that cannot be prevented from forming and they can destroy the teeth if they are left unattended. To remove these cavities, you have to visit your dentist at least once a year to have a dental check up. Through this check-up, the hidden cavities will be spotted and will be removed.
